Merry Christmas to me! A sixer variety pack of imperial stouts from my co-workers!

Got two six-pack beer samplers from Total Wine as a gift. Have only had two of the beers before. Can't wait to get home and start sampling.
Also, had this Bison Gingerbread Ale last night. Non-beer flavors (chocolate, blueberry, etc) aren't usually my thing, but it was a pretty good beer to have on Christmas Eve. Not overwhelming, but I doubt I'd drink more than one in a sitting.

Bourbon County Coffee Stout just came off the bottling line! This year's coffee is @Intelligentsia Anjilanaka.

I read the first four pages months ago, but I'm not re-reading them. Sorry. But I tried Unibroue's Don de Dieu a couple weeks ago (after a La Fin du Monde) and I think I liked the Don de Dieu better.

My fave Unibroue is definitely Trois Pistoles.

I have not tried that. Just looked it up on beer advocate and I don't do dark beers, so I'll take your word for it. :D

Well, then there goes my idea of sending you my homemade Russian Imperial Stout (which I named Badenov Stout).

Seriously, it's not all that different than La Fin du Monde. It's nothing deep, dark and roasty like a stout at all. It's just a different caramel malt used to impart a deeper reddish color rather than your garden-variety yellow-to-orange from lighter caramel malts. Don't be escared when it's called a Belgian Strong Dark Ale...

    Great Tragically Hip song too.

Had a great stout over the holidays, Lava from Iceland. Impressed with homegrown Hockley's Black and Tan too.

Recently I tried the new Bud Light "Platinum" and it was actually not too shabby. Six percent alcohol. Sort of funny how the American Macros went from as little flavor and calories as possible to this.

Never heard of this. I despise Bud products, but I might try that if enough people tell me it's decent. And it's not too pricey. If I'm paying 8-9 bucks for a sixer I'll get something better.
