Follow the link to a list of places where Russian River is available East of Colorado, hint: the Philly area. No guarentee they have it in all of these places, only that RRBC's Philly distributor has accounts here.

I'm pretty sure other than in NorCal and a few San Diego spots, RR only ships a few kegs of Younger to Philly. Top spots like Monk's Cafe may get a keg. I don't think any of the other states RR gets into (CO, AZ) ends up seeing Younger.

I could be wrong, as I frequently am. Just ask my wife and kid.

Had some of the new Budweiser Black Crown the other night.

    Surprisingly good.

I had it at a bar just north of Philly. Then yesterday I went to Monk's where they had a keg of it, too. The line went three city blocks to get it. It was insane. Not worth waiting that long, but it's close.

Here is a list of who has had it near Philly and the one tapping left that people know about.

    No Dark Lord Day posts?

Here's a rundown of new breweries looking to open in Chicagoland:

Was at DLD three times, but the last two were complete and utter shit-shows. Too many people in too small of a space, ridiculous lines. And the beer ain't that good, just a total sweet, syrupy mess when fresh (some years it mellows with age but you're also left with an inch or two of sludge at the bottom of the bottle).

Don't get me wrong, I had a great time at each one, mainly visiting with beer friends I see once or twice a year and meeting new folks. Get to share and sample some unreal things I'd never get the chance to try. But just not worth the hassle any more to me, especially as I get older.

Same weekend Short's Brewing in Bellaire, Michigan has their Anniversary Party. Been to that a couple times and find it to be much more enjoyable, but it's also beginning to get a bit overcrowded as well despite being in the middle of fucking nowhere.

This year for the first time in five years, Mrs. Fly and I did neither, mainly because I was stuck in Canuckistan trying to evaluate the next great hockey stars.

We do have a local cask ale festival Saturday, so we have that going for us. Should be a great time.

Oh, and Pipeworks is fabulous. Have not had anything bad from them yet. Heard good things about Solemn Oath as well. Not overly familiar with the other new CHI spots.

I've heard Simtra, their triple India Pale Ale, is exquisite. It's on my long list.

I might check it out his weekend. Sounds like too much to me, though. I love a good, hoppy IPA, but the double and triple are IPAs are unbalanced.

So do they sell Russian River brews in Phoenix? Heading there in a couple of weeks. Would love to find some ...

Also, Stone's various "Enjoy By" ales are phenomenal. Big, stinky double dry hopped IPA.

Unfortunately no RR available in AZ.

Been told Four Peaks in Tempe is a good spot and their Hop Knot is a solid hoppy beer.

Papago in Scottsdale is another that my friends out that way frequent.

Neither are Russian River, but I'm told both make quality stuff.
