Sipping on a homebrew blueberry mead.

I was about to keg an IPA when I realized one of my keg adapters was busted. Went to a local clubmember's house to pick up a spare and he gave me a bottle of this amazing brew. It's just beyond awesome.

Local brewery (well, in the closest city) just released a porter aged in bourbon barrels...with cherries. Freaking cherries. The ladyfriend grabbed me one since Countrytown doesn't usually get these kind of releases. That said, the college town about an hour away will get it this weekend. If I like it on first drink, I may stockpile.

One of the benefits of the Louisville outing was first contact with Kentucky Bourbon Barrel Ale. Smooth and powerful, just like me. Only except for the smooth part. And the powerful part. But the and is totally legit.

Epic Brewing (which to me comes off as a douchy name to call yourself) is doing limited edition releases.
Split the Imperial Stout bomber with my wife, pretty damn good. 9 bucks a bottle, which isn't too bad.

Those out this way might not have heard, but the quarterly Beer West magazine closed shop. A good, well-designed magazine. Found out when I pitched a story, but the publisher was nice enough to let me know that she has moved on to other things.

Inniss and Gunn out of Scotland does Whiskey and Rum barrel beers. Both are pretty damn good. Can get them at Total Wine and select pubs in my neck of the woods. Pretty darn expensive though.

Indeed it was. I enjoyed the shit out of the Founder's Centennial Ale at Friday night's first bar.

Grocery shopping at the local Safeway and noticed they had Halloween candy out already. Yep, summer is done. Thankfully, it also means some Octo beers like this. Love the Octo beers. Lots of flavor yet they don't fill you up to quick or put you into an insta-nap.

Haven't had much beer the past couple of months -- mostly been drinking red wine. But had two beers that I really liked. I'm a sucker for Shiner beers and I thought that their Octoberfest was really good. Also had the Sam Adams Latitude 48 IPA which I also thought was strong.

Mrs. W agrees with you and she's the IPA lover in the family.
