I went to Hoppin' Frog a few months ago. Great little place...kind of in the middle of nowhere, but worth driving to.

 

Have you had Fat Head's Head Hunter DIPA?

It's seriously good. Scary good.

Yes!! And it is. Fatheads is pretty awesome. In fact northeast ohio has so many great breweries.

 

I was just at Brew Kettle yesterday, they had a Founders Tap takeover and I found a new favorite the CBS was glorious. I was able to sneak a growler.

 

Do they use the same yeast for Focal Banger?

 

Not sure if they use Konan for Focal, for some reason I seem to remember that's only for Heady.

 

I'd imagine they don't stray too far from the tree. I've found a couple of clone recipes online. Most claim citra and mosaic for the hops. Might have to try it.

 

It's an outstanding hoppy, that's for sure. I find the citra/mosaic combo to be a stellar pairing. Too many citra-only beers have fabulous aromas but are a bit of a let-down in the taste.

 

I did a citra/maris otter SMASH (single malt single hop) last fall that was amazing. Great aroma hop, for sure.

 

I just drank three Torpedo Extra IPAs and I'm buzzin' like a cousin.

 

It's certainly a good one.
