Currently in Ridgecrest, CA, having a LARGE Alaskan Amber, icy cold with a mini fiesta platter.

LARGE is no pussy 23 oz. serving. They go the FULL QUART pressure, 32 oz. in an icy cold mug.

Chuck Thompson, ain't the beer cold!

Currently enjoying a quart draft of Mojave Red from Indian Wells Brewing Company.

And I also highly recommend their Lobotomy Bock. That's a German Doppel Bock, and I love the beer and the name.

Finally gathering the stuff for a Belgian dark strong. Mostly Maris Otter and some Belgian pils, with Special B and Caramunich. Using D-45 and D-180, as well as a pound of turbinado. Using the Chimay yeast I harvested from a Belgian IPA I have online now. Thinking about splitting off a gallon or so and using some oak chips in a secondary. 1.093 on the OG.

Last two times I stopped at Three Floyds I picked up a 2014 Dark Lord and two cases of Zombie Dust. Not a bad score.

Himalaya restaurant in Ventura. Food from Nepal, Tibet and India. Very good.

Paired with two beers from Nepal:
    Mustang Lager (5.5%)
    Real Gold Lager (5.5%)

What a time to be alive. I can drink beer from half a world away, and piss water from the Himalayas. Come to think of it, I've pissed water from six continents, without visiting three of them.

Someone should start a brewery on Antarctica. Gotta get that seventh continent.

Got the quad on. Looking for 10.7% at the end. Chimay blue clone, basically.

Mojave Red is great. The gold is also not to be passed on either.

IWV Brewery also has a marzen that is underrated within Ridgecrest.

Had a couple of mediocre summer beers at a soccer BBQ on Sunday. Anyone have anything new and interesting?

Chimay clone coming in at 10.63% right now. Gonna let it sit for another week. Maybe it'll come up a bit. Nice, earthy, dark fruit flavors. But it's HOT.

Had Red Cent Amber from Public Works Ale in Baltimore, with spikechiquet and his wife. Very good, drinkable amber with great company!
