You couldn’t pay me to dive in this thing. Yet they got billionaires to pay them to do it.

Some people with money are dumber than a bag of rocks.

(which also would sink two miles into the ocean)

Don't ever read or watch anything about the Confederate submarine Hunley. It gives me the shivers to think about being one of those guys in that thing. If I ride in a multi-passenger van, I have to sit by the door, or I start getting anxious.

They need a hatch. And a squirming hatch blower.

When I was a kid going to Boys Club summer camp, we had a song about the Titanic that we sang on the bus. I can still remember it about 60 years later.

Oh, they built the ship Titanic, to sail the ocean blue.
And they thought they had a ship that water wouldn't go through.
But the good Lord raised his hand, said the ship would never land,
It was sad when the great ship went down.

    It was sad, so sad.
    It was sad, so sad.
It was sad when the great ship went down (to the bottom of the....)
Husbands and wives, little children lost their lives,
It was sad when the great ship went down.

Of course, kids being kids, there was an alternate line to the "husbands and wives."

Uncles and aunts, little children lost their pants.

If you're in Belfast, go see the Titanic museum. I thought it'd be a bunch of pap, but it was in-depth and well done. Not sure it's worth the $40, but it's a lot better than I expected.

When we were in Belfast we opted for a black cab tour of the city instead of Titanic. The tour was fascinating but the others on our bus who went to Titanic thought it was great.

Fair enough. However, there was a thorough investigation and Grissom was exonerated of wrongdoing. Philip Kaufman's depiction in the film version of The Right Stuff is terrible history.
