    Dear KY,

It is the SJ ads ....

    Liesl,

I agree, that type of "ad stalking" on the internet is super-creepy. But it's not unique to SJ; it's the result of the ad-service algorithms used by the advertising platform that SJ is using. This type of targeted advertising is very lucrative, and it's unlikely that SJ or any site that uses it will change.

The theory is that if you see ads that are more "relevant" to you, based on your viewing history, you are more likely to purchase that item or service because it gets you thinking about it again.

In addition to becoming a paying member, you can download ad blocking software for your internet browser that makes surfing the web so much more bearable. It blocks ads on sites such as this one (I haven't seen an ad here in years).

Depending on the internet browser you use (Firefox, Chrome, IE, etc.), you can go to http://download.cnet.com and search for "Adblock Plus" and the name of your browser. It's a free software, and I trust downloads that come via the CNET website.

If you need help, feel free to PM me.

    Dear NFL,

I know lots of people love you. I don't. I hate everything about you. But you know what I hate most?

You mess with my watching The Amazing Race on time.

    Sincerely,

    A Non-Fan

    Speedy,

I finally got to where I set my DVR to record an hour late for TAR. It's why I never watch live TV. :(

    Dear couple at Chipotle,

I want to thank you for offering to let me go ahead of you in line after I held the door open for you. I didn't take the offer because I was astounded by your generosity and wasn't in a hurry to go anywhere. But I appreciated the gesture. I hold doors open a lot. I was trained to like a dog by my mother, I guess. But rarely does anyone every offer more than a half-assed acknowledgment. Maybe the world is getting nicer these days. [/crossthread]

    Sincerely,

    Verse

    Dear Turtle,

I am going to try the ad blocker now. The ads are getting out of hand. If my daughter were to look over my should while I'm at SJ, she would know everything she is getting for Christmas.

    Thank you,

    Lieslntx
