    Dear slappy,

No crap. It's a shock he found this website (sorry, I mean Web site...I wish our paper would catch up with the times).

    IJAG,

AP Style means nothing to us here at "The Harvard Comma & courtesy titles" rag.

    Spike,

So wait, not only would a new hire have to cover NASCAR, but they'd have to write about Mr. Earnhardt? Fuck that noise.

    Dear imjustagirl,

As long as we're clear that "Mr." stands for "Master" in that case.

    Sincerely,

    Dear IJAG,

We ignore it in sports most of the time, but that would be Earnhardt, Jr., or Hornish, Jr., (note the commas).
Mr. is used in sports stories that run in the A section, but not for athletes/coaches. So "Mr. Gee" and "Mr. Smith" used "Tressel" as a scapegoat for "Pryor" and his crew. There are actual discussions about who does and doesn't get a courtesy title when a sports story runs in news. We are a little looser in sports.
But yeah, we still have "Web site" in our style book. The word email had been changed, just not website.

    Dear board,

Nothing like offbase personal attacks from someone you've never met who has decided you're the antichrist to put a damper on what should, and still will, be an awesome evening.

    Fuck you, lady.
