    cp,

the friendship we have struck up, the mutual respect, knowing that there is SOMEONE out there who will listen and not judge ... well, that's been one of my favorite parts of the past year. Please know I treasure you.

    Folks,

So my mom just emailed saying I got a letter from the department of licensing in my home state. Apparently, the idiot that I sold my car to got a DUI and the car is now impounded. So, the state still has me as the registered owner even though I singed the title over to him. They now want to charge me the $40/day impound fee. I am kinda puzzled as to what to do?

    BB,
Do you have copies of the papers and everything else? If so, send those in.

    IJAG,
Holy shit, I'm sorry this is going on. I really thought the jobs you had applied for closer to home would pan out for you, and now this.

If you need to talk, you've got my number.

    IJAG,

Ugh ... awful. I'm sorry. If there's something we can do, please let us know. Sounds like the outing could be great therapy.

Take care ... all the best ...

    Dear everyone,

    Hi!
Sorry to hear some of you are having some struggles. Always hate to hear it and I wish I could make it go away.
MM, good luck on your interview. Can't answer the other question without knowing more but you can't ever go wrong with a tie. Go to TJ Maxx and buy two perfectly acceptable ties for about 20 bucks.
What I want to address here is IJAG's assertion a couple of pages back about interviews and preparation and such: Horseshit.
You forget, young lady, that I interviewed you. And you knocked it out of the park. As prepared as anyone I've ever been involved with in that setting. And I believe I told you if you prepared half as well for the job as you did for the interview, you'd be aces.
My point? Stop selling yourself short.

    Bye for now,
    Moddy

    Moddy,

But did I? Prepare half as well for the job? :D

But if you read CLOSELY I said "preparing in a different field" or something of that sort. I can interview for a journalism job. Until the one job I didn't get last month that I REALLY wanted, I had never been brought in for an interview and not gotten an offer. My streak is over. And now that I'm looking outside the field, I simply feel lost.

Do you need help in Washington? :)

    IJAG,

Everybody suffers crises of confidence. I have them all the time. The key is to remember that you are really as good as everybody else says you are, dust yourself off and go back at it again.
I know it wasn't much of a pep talk, but hope it helps.

    Dear friend,

When you say I can stay with you, please don't text me at 10 saying you're not home yet, then stop answering texts. Now it's almost midnight, I need to sleep, and I'm having to book a shady hotel because it's all I can afford.

    Thanks for nothing.
