Bodie, depending on your state, the state may allow you to report online when you have sold a car, so that sort of thing does not happen. If you have any evidence of the sale, you should be okay -- signed copy of a bill of sale; photocopy of the notarized title, etc. If you do not have those I'd say print out your bank statements and plead to the court that why else would you be depositing 1900 dollars cash, etc.
