Also, good people of the world,

I know this is quite the old song now, but after listening to it again, I feel compelled to say that if you don't get the chills while listening to (and especially watching the video for) Johnny Cash's version of "Hurt," well, you might not have a soul.

Dear trashy people who live in the weekly/montly motel behind my back fence:

I can barely tolerate lighting fireworks every night around 10 or 11, but once the domestic disturbances start, I will dial 911.

    Thanks,

    Stitch

    Board,

I'm kind of psyched. I love all three of the people I met with. I think it went great. They didn't seem to be in a huge rush as they're still trying to figure out exactly what they want to do with it, but they also don't want to wait forever as they have no one in a communications position right now.

    Fingers crossed, y'all.

    Dear board,

I posted this on my FB this afternoon. It's a little wordy, but please give it a read - especially the last paragraph. Been a while since I've been on, but I hope everyone's doing well and IJAG, good luck with your stuff you have going on.

My grandmother, Irene Shafer, passed away this morning at the age of 100. Granny Shafer was everything you'd expect a grandmother to be and more. She was a good Christian woman and I'm sure she and her 11 brothers and sisters are having a heck of a potluck dinner in Heaven right now.
Granny never failed to cook our favorite foods when we came to visit her and she always made sure we left with leftovers to eat at home. I remember her giving me a box of Andes Mints for Christmas several years in a row and I remember enjoying those little, wafer-shaped chocolates every single year. Spending Christmas on Cairo Bend Road in Lebanon with my cousins, aunts, uncles and my grandmother were some of my best memories growing up.
I also remember sitting at the little table with the rest of my cousins or sitting with the little folding tables in my grandmother's living room and watching football on Thanksgiving while talking about WWF wrestling with my cousins. Holidays were always fun times, because it meant Granny would cook and she'd fuss that it wasn't her best work even when it was great to the rest of us.
If there's one thing I truly regret, it's that I didn't get a chance to tell her goodbye and that she never saw me in my Army uniform. I'm sure she would've been beaming and proud if she'd seen me in my ACU's.
I say that to say all this. If you ever have the chance to tell somebody you love them, do it. You never know when you won't have that chance to do it again. Don't be stuck having to live with that, because it's not an easy weight to bear...
