Thanks for the kind wishes. Tomorrow is my last day here at Army training in Texas, then I head home to Georgia long enough to sign out on leave and then drive to Tennessee for the funeral Sunday. About the only good thing out of all this is that I'll get to see my family and some friends I haven't seen in many, many years.
However, between the expected reaction to losing my grandmother and the callous response of others in my family to my loss, I've got a lot going on mentally and not much of it is good. Your continued thoughts and prayers would be much appreciated.

Dear Mr. or Mrs. _______,

I start a new job Monday. It's at the newspaper where I got my start as a part-time weinus 16 years ago. I would have told you buttholes sooner, but I accepted the job the same day New Orleans and Alabama delivered tactical nuclear devices to their newsrooms. It would have been unseemly to do a victory lap through a field of dead bodies. But if I wait for newspapers to stop laying people off, you'll find out I have a job when I tell you I lost it. So anywho, if you're of the praying type, pray me up some strength and patience and hope that I can stick around a while. If you're not, you are going to burn in hell your well wishes (as in you don't wish me any specific harm) are appreciated as well.

Dear members at SJ,

I just reached 50 days logged on SJ since September. I might be addicted to this place. I need help.

All kidding aside. I just wanted to thank everyone for making me feel welcome around these parts. I enjoy logging on every day and discussing different topics. I've made a lot of friends and I'm thankful for that.
