Dear World,

Being married but having your spouse and family in another place far away from you really stinks, especially on days like today. All of your married and otherwise-hooked-up co-workers are off doing their own thing with their families or significant others, while people who either are single or don't otherwise have family close at hand have to try and come up with something to do on their own.
What makes things even worse is when that family doesn't really have any plans to move to where they can be with you. So, yes, you're married, but you're basically living like a single person. Not really much fun, or at least it's not to me.
I was single for a long time (didn't get married until I was 32), so I know what that's like. But once I got married, I figured I was done having to live the single life (at least for a long time). Apparently not so, and right now it's a lot of things, including frustrating, sad and just generally crappy.
Not trying to be a downer, but I needed someplace to vent a bit. My apologies if it brings down your holiday festivities.
