    Dear Board,

Avoid eating at Taco Bell at all costs, especially if said Taco Bell is in a shady part of town. I failed to listen to my own advice and as a result, got a nasty case of food poisoning. It was bad enough that I keeled over in the middle of formation (I passed out because of the cramps and trying not to be sick in front of everyone) and got taken to the ER (not by ambulance, thank God).
I'm doing better now, but still have a headache and my stomach rumbles every now and again. Needless to say, I made sure to call the restaurant and gave them heck over it.

Hoping to eat solid food soon,

    JCM

    Dear JM,

I thought that was obvious to everyone.

All kidding aside, I'm glad you're doing better, and I hope you'll be 100% very soon.

    Take care,

    Gehrig

    Dear former coworker:

I can understand drunk people. I can understand New Orleans accents. But combine the two and I'm at sea. Hopefully my generic answers and vaguely reassuring words were enough to comfort you. Let's do lunch next week so I can find out what the hell you said.

    Groggily yours

    Dear Dixiehack:

In my experience, I have found that generic answers and vaguely reassuring words usually are enough to comfort a drunk person.

    Dear Liesl,

But you haven't talked to me on the phone in ages! :D

    Dear board,

Allow me to make a testimonial. While it could not have come under worse circumstances, I am thankful every day that I have gotten to know Amy, Craig's girlfriend. She is as warm, and caring, and loving toward someone she's never met and didn't know two months ago as I could ever have asked for. She has done more to help me in my job search than almost every other person I've known for years.

We are all so lucky she's decided to hang around these parts. She's a good egg.

Awwwwww, IJAG, you're going to make me cry and ruin my make-up. Please go back to either making me laugh or grossing me out.

ps. Be very glad you don't have to arm wrestle me for Toby. I'd so kick your ass.

    Amy,

    It's on, bitch.

Also, because there was once a thread on here where I played press secretary (you really should find it, I was a little sloshed and had quite the good time), I'm now going to be CJ.

    Suck on that.

I'll go with perky but effective Mandy. She was a nimble thing and I think very capable of taking down CJ.

    Amy,

You'll need to follow the style of the thread, or you'll have to take your one-season-job-having ass elsewhere. :)

    Board,
My nephew's birthday party was yesterday, but it was one of the most awkward situations I've been in.

My sister had the party at her mom's -- my ex-step mom, if you will. I thought it was just going to be a bunch of her family over, but it turned into a drinking party with her mom's friends more than a birthday party for Dereke (yes, that's how she spelled my nephew's name ...).

I just never felt welcome there, especially since my dad wasn't allowed to come. Making matters worse, my sister's family has never liked me -- didn't like me when my dad and my sister's mom were married, even. But Beth invited me and I wanted to be there for Dereke and to see my two other nephews and my step sister Lindsey (I still call her that even though my dad and her mom have been divorced for several years).

I just wish things weren't so weird, but it's not like I'm going to be hanging around those people again for a long time.

    KY
