    Dearest board,

Work trip to Vegas next week (tough life, right? Jesus.) I have about $300 for food and entertainment while I'm out there. Food will be reimbursed, entertainment will not. It's plenty of cash. Question: Should I use $100 of that to have floor seats for Barry Manilow here Sunday night before I leave? It's either two hours of one of my favorites, or possibly like an hour at a blackjack table.

    Opinions?

Depends. Is Liza opening for Manilow?

Of course, that $100 could be like 100 minutes at a strip joint.

And in the spirit of the thread ...

    Dear Afghanistan,

You blow. I promise I won't be like one of those old Vietnam vets who return and meet the people they fought against.

    Fuck you,

    MC,

I had a good run in the overnight hours after the race. Ended up a few hundred down, but it was much less than I planned on losing. And I didn't have to worry about that pesky sleeping before a flight, either.

Either way, it's memories. Won't buy a t-shirt or anything, so it comes down to which will be more enjoyable.

Oh, and in case it matters, I love blackjack more than most members of my family most days. Then again, I love Manilow more than them too.

    Sincerely,

    IJAG.

    Dear imjustagirl,

Here's what you do: Play one hand of blackjack. If you win, stay. If you lose, go see "Can't Smile Without You."

    Sincerely,

    Verse,

A fine plan, if only Manilow weren't playing here two days before I go to Vegas. If I wait until I can play blackjack, it will be a moot point.

    Dear ijag:

Futures bet at a sports book for Duke to win it all next spring. Months of heightened enjoyment.

    T_B_F,

Hooah. When I deploy, I'm sure I will feel the same way when I step foot back in the good old U.S. of A.

    Dear swim team coach,

Nah. Go ahead and just keep being a douche. We'll see how this ends up.
