Sure, I got a little suspicious when I hadn't heard anything three days before the season was supposed to start, but that's probably the team captain's fault, right?

No, you hadn't assigned me to a team and just didn't think to tell me. Thanks a lot for already depositing my check, assholes. And given that you didn't tell me anything until I e-mailed you the day before the season wondering why I hadn't heard from anyone, I just have to assume you weren't going to tell me at all.
