    KY,

Promotion at work, more money and I get to live a short flight from home. Plus the weather in my new city is awesome. Things are good.

    Bodie.

I'm glad things are looking up for you, my friend.

I know you've wanted to get back out West for a while now.

    Dear Board,

Sebaceous carcinoma. My stepfather has been initially diagnosed with it.

Given his health, going under for a procedure is pretty much out. My mother is stubborn, but the guess here is that's the clinical diagnosis and not just what the wife thinks. With any luck, people much more knowledgeable than any of us will agree. Chemo isn't likely, either ... quality of life is already low enough.

Maybe I shouldn't have left ... yeah, I know I can't prevent cancer and no number of Keep Pounding bands will make it go away ... but still, I didn't stay to finish the mission. My mother says she understands, and I can only hope that was the case and not just an attempt to make me feel better.

I even went to the grocery store and brought back enough ice cream for a bowl - without eating anything worthwhile - for dinner. One of the better ways to symbolize his presence. Might have to speed up something else ...

    Keep Pounding, good sir.

Sorry to hear about your father. Thoughts and prayers from my neck of the woods in Southwest Georgia.
