    Dear Board,
    Could use some kind thoughts/prayers/whatever.

Lots of shit going on with my family right now. As I told one of the guys I work with, it's starting to affect everything. I don't know what's going to happen, but something's got to change.

    Anyone,

What do you do when you're faced with a life-altering decision, and all of your options are shitty? Damned if you do, damned if you don't kind of thing.

    Damn.

    Ms. Pot:

You pick the best of the worst options... And you look at the long haul ramifications, not the now. And last, you pick the best for YOU, not the best for anyone else.

    Wishing you the best,

    Matt

    Ms. Pot,

You make a choice and you don't look back. You live with the decision you make without regrets.

And you lean on friends for support, because they'll be there no matter what. The pain will pass and you will be stronger.

Hugs through the screen to the keeper of sheep!

    Dear Board,
Was cleaning out my PMs and came across one from editorhoo following Secret Santa in 2009.

    Man, I miss that guy.

    Dear Barbara,

I nearly bust a gut when you told me you were running late for an appointment with a shut-in, but "if I'm late I'm sure she'll still be there," especially since you gave no hint of sarcasm.

    Dear Pvt. Doe:

I never met you, and was only at your funeral this morning because of you granddaughter and daughter-in-law, former coworkers and incredible friends. Still, it sent shivers up my spine to see the ceremony at my first military funeral. I can't even fathom the amount of changes you lived through, from a child of the Depression and a Marine at Guadalcanal to the age of smartphones and Google Glasses. Your family is a tribute to the good man they've described.

With the thanks of a grateful nation

    Folks,

I have a friend who has three kids and the father has decided that he is not going to pay support. He runs a couple businesses and has enough money to support his children. What kind of legal action can she pursue? I suggested that she stop letting him see the kids, but she insists "they need a father."
