    Xan,

    See, insomnia doesn't wake me up for that. It just doesn't let me even have the desire to want to go to sleep most nights.

    Cocka-cocka-kaw!

    To my cat;

    Look, I know the new cat food my roommate's girlfriend brought over is tasty. I mean, not only is it fish flavored, but the label on the bag says it has yogurt as well. I know there have been times in my own life when I've gotten a little crazy with the fish and yogurt.

    But lately, you've been snarfing this stuff up like Amy Winehouse at a liquor store or Nicole Richie at a penis buffet.

    You may not believe me now, but someday soon, you're going to have an interest in the opposite sex. And unless you manage to land Sir Mix-A-Lot's cat, no male feline I know is going to be interested if you've got a big fat ass. Learn moderation, and you'll have all the boys after you.

    Yours;
    Kaylee

    P.S. Oh, wait...I had a doctor yank out your reproductive and sex organs back when you were too young to remember. Sorry. Eat up.

    Dear Bruce Robison,
    Thanks for playing a 3 1/2 hour set at the Broken Spoke Saturday. You might have saved my relationship.

    Sincerely,
    Bertolt

    Dear Flash,

    It seriously helped my ability to be peppy at work today when I had to be in at 5 a.m. for the first time in a long time.

    Thanks,
    spup

    Dear spup,

    It is, however, an incredible signal that summer is over. It also means the gingerbread latte (yummy) isn't far away ... but that means the snow is closer, too.

    Read to hibernate,

    Dear Flash,

    THAT'S WHAT WAS DIFFERENT. I usually get a pumpkin spice latte, but today I got a pumpkin spice mocha. I couldn't figure it out but it tasted a little different.

    Thanks!,

    Dear spup and Flash,

    My favorite? Peppermint hot cocoa all through the holidays. It's a great sidekick to my grande caramel machiato obsession.

    Dear students,

    Last night's lab was outstanding. Keep it up.

    UT,

    I usually go for the Venti, but agreed on the caramel macchiatos. Lately, it's been the raspberry mocha, but since that's a summery drink, it's time for fall to begin.

    I'm a fall kinda girl. I like turtle necks and jeans. I like my ankle length black boots. Need to get some new knee length. I like the colors of leaves falling off trees (even though there aren't any in this god forsaken state) and I love the briskness of a cool fall day.

    The season is too short. It's almost as if it's here and then gone again and we're into the freezing temperatures of winter. I suppose I like fall because it symbolizes a new start. Leaves die and we go into a hibernation period. Life moves a little slower because people just aren't ready to move onto the white snows of winter. People seem particularly content with life in the fall before we move into the darkness of shorter days and longer nights; of dreary clouds and constant snow.

    That's why I like fall. For me, it means new beginnings. When each leaf falls, it makes way for a new life; a new hope; a new day.

    Thanks for listening,
    spup

    P.S. I need to start writing more often. Now that I'm writing broadcast news, I don't get to use the vernacular I once used eloquently. Definitely the top of my to-do list now.

    Dear spup,
    You make me smile. I've never heard anyone refer to fall as a 'new life.' It's supposed to be a sign of death and endings. But I like the way you think better. ;)
