    Dear flash,

I used to write a lot. Before I got my job in print, that is. Now that I'm back to broadcast news where it's "just the facts ma'am" I think I'll get back to writing for fun again. I look forward to using alliteration and metaphors to describe life.

And I think spring does symbolize death and endings, but even more than that...it makes way for new beginnings. I was a fall baby. The day I was born, a woman from my parents' church died shortly after having a stroke during the morning service. My parents always told me that it was God's way of making room for me in that town.

    Sincerely
    spup

    Dear spup,
My eldest niece was born the day after my father died in 1996. I remember my grandmother pacing around the wake, wringing her hands and muttering 'the Lord giveth and the Lord taketh away,' over and over and over and over again.
    Creepy.

    Dear Flash,
To lighten things up, you are -- quite simply -- one of the best shoe shoppers I've ever seen. These fantastic brown suede Mary Jane heels are super. And you bought a $100 pair of shoes on clearance for 15 bucks.
    Sheer genius,
    Flash

    Flash,

Your talk of shoes makes me giggle.

    Dear spup,
Chocolate brown with bronze heels. Comfortable and sexy. Also a perfect match for my brown pencil skirt with the ruffle at the back.
    Tee hee,
    Flash

    Flash,

I want a new pencil skirt so bad. Can you convince doc to let me?

    Thanks,

    Dear Doc,
Do you have any idea how good hips and gams look in a pencil skirt? Let the woman go shopping, for heaven's sake! Mac and cheese will get you through to payday.
    Cheers,
    Flash

    Dear ladies:

We may have an outing ... the discussion of shoes has me thinking that Flash is sportschick's new alter ego.

(Yes, this is entertaining in a thoroughly masculine way ... carry on ... )

    Dear Sam,

Not one in the same. :) The three of us should never go on a shopping excursion together, though. We'd find ourselves getting in trouble for spending too much money.

    Sincerely,
    Spup

P.S. A shopping trip to the Mall of America should be a female SportsJournalists.commer outing trip. No sales tax and tons of stores.

    Dear Sam,
Balderdash! Sportschick likes 'em skinny and bull-wrangling. My most recent conquest was a muscular ball player.
    Grinning from ear to ear,
    Flash

    Dear spup,
We are building a mall of 1.4 million square feet. We have no sales tax. Only GST ... and you Yanks don't have to pay it.
    Counting the days,
    Flash
