Dear Old Ladies of the World,

I don't care how nice you seem, or that you just came from church, or that you and the cashier are all buddy-buddy (the post-payment hug was really touching). You can't bring more than 50 items through the "10 items or less" aisle. Fuck you.

    Sincerely,

    Barsuk

P.S. You know those 20 greeting cards you bought? Yeah, it took forever to ring those up.

    Mr. suk,

I'm not an old lady, but I must apologize for taking 11 items through the 10-items-or-less line the other day.

    Please forgive me,

    BAM,

I wonder the same thing. For a different reason, of course.

    Preppy, F_T, et al,

I'm better than everyone else by one item.

    BAM,

That's a healthy way to look at it. I was just thinking you couldn't count.

    Preppy,

I have enough fingers and toes to count to 20.

    bam

PS. I can only count to 21.

    BAM,

Hopefully you've got some friends who can help if you need to multiply.

    Preppy,

I'm unfamiliar with that term. Please enlighten.

    BAM,

There was no innuendo in that term. I'm just saying that if you need to multiply seven and four, you'll need a few extra digits. Good friends will let you use theirs. Thought that 21st might not be up for grabs.

    Preppy,

Some friends have 21 and 22 that are off limits, or so I assume.

    BAM,

    That's news to me.
