Hitting your inside straight on the river (or was this sheer stupidity?)

That is an amazing app. Honestly, I rarely use it, but every so often it's invaluable.

One such time was in November 2015, in Austin. I was there with some friends and we went out to eat and watch Sunday Night Football, and, a Royals fan, I was intent on watching Game 5 of the 2015 World Series. Well, the place we went turned off the baseball game about halfway through. A group of other Royals fans got mad and let me know they were going across the street.

After we finished our food, most of the rest of my friends went home and two of us went over to join them, except as soon as we walked in the place was closing. So, we joined with that group and went to another bar just up the street that had TVs on a rooftop patio. Great, right? It was, until the game went into extra innings. The staff was all gathered around staring at us, waiting for us to leave. It was Sunday night. There wasn't anyone else in the bar. They were ready to go.

Finally, they claimed a local noise ordinance required them to mute the TVs. Everyone was ready to go home, disappointed, but I remembered Tunity. I pulled it up on my phone and it worked like magic. Except, the speakers on my phone were shot and only got to about 25% of their real volume. So, another guy downloaded the app, fired it up and, much to the chagrin of the staff and much to our delight, we got to watch and listen to the Royals win the World Series.

    We did tip a lot.

Any bar that ditches a World Series game for Sunday Night Football should be reminded that it's a suck-ass bar.

TVs are cheap now. Have four or six on hand to cover the spread.
