And as usual, you add nothing. Thanks for the stalking though.

I followed it enough to know they proved motive, that a friend testified against him and said he did it. That's good enough for me when considering the case of a guy who is already serving a life sentence

Sixty or so years from now, when Hernandez is suffering from whatever is a terminal illness then, it'll probably make a difference. If he wants to be compassionately released, two quaintly heinous crimes nobody remembers would have sounded more impressive than one.

"That's good enough for me" because he was already convicted of another crime is not the legal standard for conviction.

Proving motive is not part of a murder conviction, unless it's a hate crime charge. Otherwise motive is legally meaningless. It just provides the jury with a narrative.

And the Commonwealth didn't prove motive. The defense had a witness who said he was with Hernandez for most of the time in the club (7 out of 9 minutes), and didn't see anything related to a spilled drink.

We also need to find him guilty to guard against later crimes he might commit.

Someone may have addressed this so I apologize but I have a question -- since he is now acquitted of these two crimes could it be grounds for an appeal for the one he is convicted of because wasn't his motive that he was trying to cover up these two murders? And since it was proven he didn't do these two murders, why would he need to cover them up? I'm asking because I don't know

Motive is not an element of the crime of murder. It's legally meaningless. The jury in the Lloyd case convicted Hernandez because they determined beyond a reasonable doubt he murdered Lloyd. Why didn't matter.

That all makes sense to attorneys I'm sure. But they usually don't comprise a jury. Obviously they couldnt convince every juror in this case, but I'd be interested to hear the jury breakdown. Like were any of them fans of the U? Bc there's your hold out right there
