I think Belle could no longer play because his hip was shot, possibly from PED use.

Dye had hit .292 and 34 HRs his penultimate season, .250 and 27 his last. You'd think somebody would have thrown him the veteran minimum to see if he could hit .250 and 25 as a DH.

Sure, he might fall off the cliff and be hitting .217 with 6 homers as of July. If that happens, you just cut him.

    Hair restoration!!

I remembered thinking this guy might take a shot at curing cancer. But, instead, he probably has a DVD of a guy swimming with a young girlfriend in his arms playing on an endless loop in his office.

    Great pull.

Was he planning to come back and play, do we know?

    Elvis Grbac is another one.

There are quite a few guys who, don't feel it's worth their while to continue playing if they can't draw a salary beyond the veteran's minimum or are unwilling to hang around at a significant discount from when they were making big bucks.

I was joking about Canseco but Bonds should have been given a shot with some American league team.

Tony Horton, budding star for the Indians in the late 1960s. Had anxiety-related issues and retired at 25 years of age during the 1970 season.

If he had been healthy, and if Richie Schienblum could have ever hit early and stayed with the club past May, Cleveland would have been much better in the 1970s.

And if Rick Manning had stayed away from Dennis Eckersley's wife.
