So it was mentioned that having his kid in the clubhouse was part of his contract, but I can't find that anywhere. If that was part of the deal, the White Sox don't have much of a leg to stand on. If rules are rules, deals are deals.

I've skipped some of the pages in this thread, but am I misunderstanding Chris Sale's role? From what I've read today, it appears that he yelled at Williams because he was booting the Drake out of the clubhouse, not because Drake was in it. Maybe I'm misinterpreting things.

[Edit: Never mind, I went back and saw one of Steak Snabler's posts]

You can make $19 an hour loading copper onto U-Hauls?
Shit, I'm in the wrong line of work.

What's heavier, a pound of copper or a pound of newsprint?

If you're really quiet and get away from the property before the cops get called, yes.

Of course once the national news types get a hold of this, it spins out of control.

Seeing LaRoche described as a "baseball star" makes me cringe more than anything.

"How could the White Sox do this? That's so mean!" my uninformed co-anchor says when watching the story that hit national news yesterday.

    So I explain the backstory.

"Oh. Screw that guy." was her thought on LaRoche after two minutes of me explaining.

First, LaRoche is a star. He's played 12 seasons and has more than 259 home runs and an OPS+ of 125.

Second, since you seem to think you know the "backstory," why don't you take a stab at explaining it to us?

LaRoche is Nick Swisher. 245 homers in 12 years. OPS+ of 113. Currently lousy. Not a star.

I think he just means that LaRoche's kid was there every day and didn't go to school, etc., etc.

LaRoche has never made an All-Star team, and he has received MVP votes once in his career.

An above-average player for the bulk of his career yes, but not a star.
