There were enough people in my area going through the school breakfast/lunch dropoffs and getting food despite having no kids in the car that they made it where you either had to have kids with you or proof of a kid -- student ID / birth certificate / etc.

There are a lot of things to hate about New York City.

But we've been handing out three free school meals a day to whoever needs them since this started. No questions asked.

I'd heard of her because of her connection to Bela Fleck, but knew little about her work until someone on NPR interviewed her about City of Refuge. I think she has taken part in Yo Yo Ma's ongoing Silk Road project among other things.

Hi, PaperDoll! I've been a part of what used to be called "Civil Defense Volunteer Emergency Whatsit" for a while. When the tornadoes hit middle Tennessee earlier this year, I volunteered to go help an was told to hold off due to my age (56) and Hx of respiratory issues. They took everyone under 50 first.

Some of us were already aware of C-19 and getting ready for plague life even then. This is week...six? of isolation. I still work from home and do volunteer stuff for a group that scans images for archaeology projects, NOAA, etc. "Find the fisheeeeee!" isn't saving lives, but it helps researhers and I feel like I'm paying it forward since people were willing to help me when I was in school.

If you are interested in archaeology and you don't already do so, follow Sarah Parcak on Twitter. @indyfromspace She's an interesting follow.

She's best known for using satellite imagery and drone photos to find archeologic sites, either previously unknown or expansion areas of existing digs. You've probably heard of her already.

Our local Trader Joe’s only lets about 25 or 30 customers in the store at once. I went last week and had to wait about 30 minutes to get in, but it was so pleasant when you were in there. I filled up a cart all the way to the top, with water and other beverages underneath. Won’t go back there for probably 2 weeks.

We have a local farm nearby with a small store. Painfully expensive but worth it because they are very clean, have everything fresh and you are basically outside.

Trader Joe's was my second to last shopping trip, similar rules, which made it about 100x better than the usual TJ's shopping trip. Usually, it is crazy packed there, regardless of the time of day I go.

Are they limiting the number of little kids with their miniature carts to slam into your ankles?

Thank christ, I've never actually seen one of those little monsters using one of them. They're just usually free range roaming, which I suppose would be worse now.
