    Jan. 21, 2020: Morning news... "Something pretty bad is going on in China."
    Oct. 22, 2020: Nurse to me... "You're positive."

    Yeah, I need to go back and find the annual CBS Sunday Morning "Hail and Farewell" segment, which is normally a good summation of things.

    Well, really no surprise, and plenty more coming in 2021 and after that, too. Television, movies and pop music really took off early/mid-1900s, and so many of the biggest early stars were born from, say, 1925 to 1950. So that entire group is past 70 now, and many already have passed over the years, then plenty more in 2020, and the rest of them ain't getting younger in the months and years ahead.

    So not really astonishing, right? It's just age finally catching up with the first generation of people who got really, really big in the electronic entertainment biz and the broadcast media that came with it. I mean, Johnny Carson died 15 years ago, and it still doesn't get much bigger than that for me. Nobody lives forever, though Kirk Douglas gave it a good shot.
