Fair enough. And that's not code for "Fuck you" as it sometimes is. I legit mean fair enough.

Yeah, but it wasn’t that long ago when ESPN would do that for original reports by other media organizations.

ESPN does a lot of employee compliance training on company confidentiality matters like this.

According to what I've read, Mr. Virk had violated both the spirit and the letter of these rules more than once.

    Out he goes.

I suspect ESPN wants to send a message about leakers and did just that with Virk's firing.

ESPN's tired of seeing its family business aired on various sites, including Clay Travis' scribbles full of run-on sentences.

He’s important enough where you’ll notice, but not someone at the level of Herbstreit. Sufficiently enough to scare most of the worker class there.

Yeah, this just feels like something where he was warned multiple times. He seemed too liked in that organization for them to fire him willy nilly. If he was warned, trained and then kept doing it, he can't stay.

LeBatard's bit of Virk randomly breaking into the show on the phone would be amazing if the show dared do it now. No way it happens, but it'd be a Letterman stroke of genius if they kept doing it.

No one delivered "due to time constraints we move ahead in the action" better than Adnan.

Seriously, they suspended Simmons multiple times and then fired him because he stuck his finger in their eye. Adnan Virk? Doesn't bring 1/100 of the value to the company that Simmons did, so this shouldn't be too surprising. No one is bigger than the mothership.

Well, he did that, and other things, like lard down the ESPN's brand with some kind of sports literary magazine run amok.
