C'mon, "pound of flesh" and "Shylock" references are the norm:

Again, in no way, shape, or form do I expect him to get out there today and lay it on the line, a changed man.

But the question was asked, what would satisfy me?

That would satisfy me. To know that a changed man is on the field now, because I believe that people can change, and that sincerely changed people deserve second chances.

Some people can change. Some people can't or won't change.

Dick, how will you be satisfied as an outsider that he's actually changed? I don't think it's impossible for people to change, but I also know that unless I'm around someone often, I have no way of knowing if that change has occurred.

I'll listen to what he has to say about what he did wrong, why he won't do it again, and do my best to determine whether he's sincere. All I can do.

I think that Michael Vick was very convincing when it came to this.

Fair enough. For the most part, I find it to be a fool's errand to divine the intentions of people I have no personal connection with.

It's how he was brought up as a kid. He even told us so. His neighbors growing up told us so. That's how he was raised. The fact that it is sickening doesn't matter to him. He doesn't feel like he did anything wrong. He beats them now. He will beat his grandkids in 30 years when he is long gone from the NFL.

Same reason people drive around with rebel flag license plates on their trucks. They were raised to think it's ok and part of their heritage.

No one told them that it makes them look like an uneducated racist fool.

Instead of telling them this, most people just ignore the uneducated racist fools, keeping them in the underclass. Which only makes the uneducated racist fools feel like they're being discriminated against when, really, they're just ignorant idiots.
