Anywhere I've been, the only high schools that sometimes played on Sundays were the Catholic schools -- unless you count extra inning state tournament baseball games that went beyond midnight Saturday.

As it has been pointed out, apparently God doesn't have a problem with Catholics playing on Sundays. The local grade school Catholic basketball tournament always concludes at noon Sunday. Like little Johnny and Jimmy are really thinking about church that Sunday.

    So, lets see.

We can't play Wednesday because it's Christian church night.

Nothing Friday for the Muslim students.

Nothing Saturday for the Jewish students.

Nothing Sunday again for the Christian students.

Monday, Tuesday, Thursday still are OK.

Screw that. Thursday is my bowling night.

    Well, scrap the season, then.

Guess separation of church and state is in play everywhere except Bama. I'm sure if Hoover wants to play, they'll play. MTV could do a show on it. Oh wait.

I never thought about teams not playing on Wedesday until I went to a district baseball meeting and some of the coaches said they can't play games on Wednesday because of church and parents would bitch and moan and damn them to hell. Well, not that last part. But I about fell out of my chair.

    I love small towns.

    Pretty much, yeah.
ACLU took schools to court for prayers before football games. Not on team, but crowd, please stand kinda thing.
US Supreme Court ruled in favor of ACLU; schools still do it.

Somehow I doubt Chick-fil-A will sponsor this game.

If it doesn't hold up, then this is why:

It's not policy unless it's written out as such.

Oh yeah. They will never stop it, ACLU be damned.

But I'm sure if the ACLU could stop teams from doing it in the lockerroom they would though.

Stop teams from doing what in the locker room?

  12. Kirk Herbstreit has his own game?
    Jesus wept.
