Maybe some people don't apply everything equally to all candidates, BB.
You have your 2 big stats, you virtually discount wins completely, you are consistent in your method and your ballot makes perfect sense.

But why can't Stark, or anyone else for that matter, apply a similar method, then add weight to the fact that Sabathia is going to be the only 20-game winner in the league and is doing it for the team with the best record in baseball, thereby giving him some "bonus" points that move him ahead of some people but doesn't deny that Felix deserves the award.

I thought if CC finished strong and got to 22 or 23 wins and got his ERA under 3, he might steal it. I doubt he'll get those numbers now but I still can see putting him second if he doesn't blow up completely in his last 3 or 4 starts.

I do believe Sean O'Sullivan of the Royals deserves mention here. How many pitchers out there can turn a 6-0 first inning lead into a 12-6 loss? You talk about amazing pitching performances. ...

Nice pitching duel tonight between CC & Price. Scoreless game through 5. Each has given up one hit.

Good chance Sabathia loses 1-0 tonite. That should clinch the Cy Young Award for him.

You have to admit that was a good line by TSP.

Still scoreless after eight. Sabathia is at 119 pitches, so the Yankees probably have to score here if he's going to have a chance to get the win,

It's just inconsistent to me. If you have decided that wins are not a good way to judge how well a pitcher pitched, which you'd have to believe to vote Felix No. 1, then why give bonus points for them?

Hell of an outing by Sabathia tonight. I don't care that he didn't get a win for it. Of course, Price matched him zero-for-zero and still has the lower ERA.

Sabathia and Price proved tonight why they have to be considered in the Cy Young race ... big game, division lead on the line, the other guy isn't giving up anything, so I can't either.

Big-time performances by two big-time stud pitchers.
