Felix pitched beautifully last night with only 1 ER over 8 innings; in fact, he had a no-hitter going for the first 7 innings!

    He is now leading in:

ERA (2.35) - Sabathia is 6th with an ERA over 3
IP (233 2/3) - Sabathia is 2nd with only 217 IP, 2 games worth fewer innings.
    SO (222) - Sabathia is again only 6th with a mere 179 SO . . .

Felix is also 2nd in ERA+ at 166 (Sabathia is at 143) and 3rd in WHIP at 1.074 (Sabathia is 10th).

So the King is still the best pitcher in the league . . . leading in the important areas and by a good margin, especially over the #1 competition in Sabathia.

Rivera looking quite human of late. Got the save tonight, but gave up a run for the third time in five outings. His ERA is up to 1.58.

And Joakim Soria still hasn't given up an earned run since July 28.

David Price is feeling lonely in this debate ...

By my own informal, and rather useless opinion, I'd probably vote Price second or third, behind Hernandez.

My own informal, and rather useless, opinion is right in line with yours. I'd say second, ahead of Sabathia, at least for now.

Joakim Soria with his 33rd consecutive save this season and 40th in 42 opportunities, dropping his ERA to 1.61. Just sayin. :)

    Felix Hernandez...two-hitter through 7 1/3. Losing 1-0.

    Bad K/BB ratio today though.

Honestly, this is insane. He's going to take the loss.

If he doesn't win the Cy Young, they should just name an award for him and award it to the pitcher who gets screwed the worst each year.

I agree. The run came on Bautista's 50th home run.

    Winners win.

In all seriousness, I think Felix is going to win it going away.

In fact, I think voters will relish this opportunity to show how they aren't idiots that saber-bloggers paint them as.

Ends up giving up one run on two hits and four walks in eight innings. Struck out five. Yet another example of why basing things on his record is ridiculous.
