    Rob Parker with riveting journalism.

    God, this is rich:

"Still, Sabathia, who entered the game as the AL's only 20-game winner, had to be the favorite. Those other stats are fine, but they should never be more important than winning."

"It would be one thing if Sabathia had 20 wins and a 5-plus ERA. By any standards, that's not a good ERA, and it would signal to you that that he's won games despite mediocre pitching. But that's not the case."

"And for all those geeks who believe Sabathia's success is based on run support by the mighty Yankees' lineup, they couldn't be more wrong. If that were the case, A.J. Burnett would have 20 wins, too. But he hasn't pitched well enough to win. "

"If Sabathia, indeed, lost the Cy Young on this night, Price should become the front runner. He has 18 victories, and he won the big game in a big spot on the biggest stage.

That's what Cy Young winners do."

    Release the fucking hounds.

Simply an idiot. Unbeleivable there are still people who think this way

The only thing that is close are his wins and losses.

Beleive it or not, beating the Yankees on national tv in New York during a pennant race to many is a lot harder than winning a game that means nothing in the standings for your team.

And they are not all idiots.

All he can contol is how he pitches, he can't control his offense. If you want to use your idioitic comparison why don't you have a look at what Hernandez has done against the Yankees.

I'm sure they will think about that when he slips on pinstripes for the first time in a few years.

Or maybe they will look at the sweet 9-12 or whatever he was not pitching against the Yankees.

Either way, IMHO, CC lost the Cy last night. Hernandez might have it now. Who knows?

Or maybe they will have the sense to look at everything other than wins and losses, which rely heavily on his team. A few weeks ago, Hernandez had the second-worst run support in MLB. Sabathia's was obviously much better. That is the only reason for the difference in their records.

According to baseballreference.com, Felix Hernandez's average run support per start is 3.07. This includes getting zero runs four times and only one run six times.

Sabathia's average run support is 5.89. That includes zero runs three times and only one run once.

What is WRONG with you people?

I have been saying it all along.

    Winners FUCKING win!

That's all there is to it.

Well, I've come full circle on this.

Once you've decided that Felix has pitched so much better than anyone else in the league that win totals don't matter, than what's the difference if he finishes 13-12 or 12-13?

It's so funny watching the old guard froth at the mouth when they talk about King Felix's record. Tony Kornheiser is doing it right now.

Going to make it even funnier when Sabathia wins the award. The revolution will not be televised, or decided in the Cy Young vote.
