There was enough traffic mobility that week for Ray Lewis to get involved in (and help cover up) a murder, so it couldn't have been that bad.

I was there. It was very bad until about Saturday morning, when it thawed. Wasn't that stabbing on the night after the game?

The stabbing, IIRC was the night of the game, but technically, on the Monday since it was after midnight.

Classic!! I wonder if, with all the cuts and stuff, all of those reporters are actually employees who don't happen to be on furlough. Or if they just gathered people who looked bored siting in their cars on the side of the road. Citizen journalism at it's finest!!

"Well, we've been stuck in this spot for about 15 hours now. The snow has stopped falling, but it's still pretty damn cold. We ran out of diapers and my 9-month-old had to take a dump. I keep wondering what Richard Petty would do in a situation like this. Back to you in the warm studio."

Of course, the simple solution is not to go out in the first place unless it's a legit life-or-death emergency.

There was one in Dallas during Super Bowl week three years ago, too. That's what you get for extending the season too long.

Of course there are never any ice storms in the middle of January.

Not in Miami, New Orleans, Phoenix, Houston, southern California, etc. I'm really curious as to the fallout from this weekend's Super Bowl in New Jersey.

I'm sure that publicly the league will put on a smile and say all the right things about how wonderful it was and what a true test the elements provided. The real test will be will they ever do it again.

I remember there was a mild media backlash when they had Super Bowls in Detroit and Minneapolis years ago. Of course, those were in domed stadiums, but certain big name media types whined about not being able to play golf during the week and having to walk from their cars to the front door of the hotels in sub-freezing temperatures.

Yeah, I don't think having the game a week earlier solves that issue.

The year it was in Atlanta, people were saying, "Oh they'll never have it in Atlanta again..." They said the same thing about Dallas a few years ago...

I would rather people have to deal with shitty weather once in awhile than to have every game in the same six cities. I actually like how the league has been doing it lately, with Indy getting a game, NY/NJ getting a game, SF getting a game... Minneapolis is rumored to be in the running for a game... I think every team that can host (probably about 6-8 cannot) should host.

New Orleans had an ice storm earlier this week.
