Big shortage of the stuff on the east coast. Some hardware stores here are rationing, though it's only a concern if you're a commercial plow guy trying to buy it by the pallet. They're saying anything from 4-10 inches where I am. Will probably be in the 4ish range, give or take an inch. But I won't have to go very far north to find it heavier.

I'm fucking sick of winter. I mean, I'm a summer guy to begin with. But I really hate this shit.

If this storm fucks up my weekend plans, I will be incredibly pissed.

I'm not in Atlanta, but am in the path of this thing. It's supposed to be 50 on Thursday, and 73 on Monday. Tomorrow and Thursday morning will suck, then we'll be cutting grass by March.

Some reporter types I'm familiar with are marooned at the Atlanta airport.

Trying to get to spring training and stuck, for now. Bad part is, at least as I type this, they don't know when they'll get a flight out.

    Sucky.

They've got it in Texas. Well, at least in some hardware stores in the DFW area. Look for the Road Runner on the bag.

Same here in southern Michigan. Grocery stores, hardware stores, etc. are all completely out of salt/ice melt.

I finally found a couple bags when I had to go to mid-Michigan.

Salt distributors around here have raised their rates for the private snow plows. County plows and road commissions have plenty though.

So far this winter, we're around 68 inches. Set a record with 30 inches in January. Both are above average.

Worked from home today, will do so at least tomorrow and Thursday. Kroger yesterday was ridiculous (took me 20 minutes to make it down a PARKING ROW) so I went to Big Lots instead and bought my granola bars I needed.

Went to Kroger tonight around 8:15 p.m., got bread, bottled water (four animals to keep hydrated if we don't have power) and some grape jelly to go with my PB. In and out in less than 10 minutes.

I will never understand the people in this city.

That being said, I'm fully expecting to lose power. Just hoping, living in an old neighborhood, that none of the three giant trees that would crush my house actually do so. Supposed to get 3/4 of an inch of ice starting at around midnight tonight, rain, sleet and ice tomorrow, then some snow on top Wednesday night into Thursday. Federal state of emergency already named with "south Metro" which includes my house in a "severe ice warning."

Not looking forward to it. Last time, once I got home, it was just walking my dog in the snow. Now it's going to be ice and power lines and horrible things.

We haven't had anything wintry, yet. But it's been raining almost constantly for two days solid, and with the temp hovering around 35, it won't take much to turn this area into a real disaster.

I'm just glad my dog has finally decided he can do his business in the rain. He doesn't much like being wet.

Forecast in DC has increased to 6-10 inches.

Drove by the supermarket yesterday and you would've thought a Beatles reunion concert was taking place in Aisle 4.
