Forecast for my town has actually done down a little bit for snow total, which is bad not good, since it means the snow is mixed with rain, a major bummer for the snow blower.

Got a good layer of sleet pellets on my grass. My back deck is ice, which is great when the dog takes off running out the door and pulling me down the steps at breakneck speed.

Big limb already down next to my house from a tree that hangs over my house. Didn't go look for damage yet. We'll see.

This is from a Nat'l Weather Service heavy snow discussion:

Pro tip: If you drink a lot of beer and piss all over your sidewalk, you can melt some of the snow. Probably won't work for ice, tho.

No, beer piss works on ice, too.

Until it turns into beer piss ice.

Excellent. Think we're supposed to just get the wet heavy snow down here in south central Va. Fairly certain we're going to have a 6 p.m. deadline. Supposed to deteriorate quickly.

Supposed to be in the 70s here this weekend.

Which is probably why I've never heard of "ice melt."
