Jesus, you still believe all those people were stuck because they lacked common sense?

In my corner of the world, it hasn't really been an issue.

Yeah, we got some snow. But no freezing rain or sleet before or after, making the roads much more tolerable. Earlier in the day, I drove more than four hours across the state, but no weather issues. The only delay was a half-hour because people wouldn't or didn't read a notice the DOT wisely posted and needless bottlenecking ensued.

Even stopped at a grocery store across the street from my place after driving in. Plenty of bread.

Other than a few ignorant motorists and some who caught bad breaks, couldn't have gone much more smoothly. I experienced some stretches for a few winters in an area much more known for inclement weather that didn't go as well there. And yeah ... I'm not that close to Atlanta.

ESPN cannot get to the arena for UNC-Georgia Tech, so no broadcast.

Just said on the local news, that for the first time in 29 hours, every highway in the metro Atlanta area is moving.....

Wimps! All you need is extreme caution when driving on ice ... or so we were told on this thread.

I can't believe they're going to play. I guess UNC was already in town?

I guess you also scoff at the folks who went after their kids, who ended up spending the night on a fucking school bus

What? You expected Roy Williams to call timeout to think about this?

This is, IMO an excellent assessment of the failures of the local governments here in ATL to address the situation:

I'm in Myrtle Beach right now, and the place is a skating rink. The whole city was shut down earlier today. Again, they're just not used to this stuff.
