Alabama beat in Mobile

Too bad.. one of the best ones around didn't get that call and it's Mobile's loss (and no, I'm not referring to me -- or anyone currently working in Alabama)

And Mobile would do good with either, but my backing is behind one of them.

 

You know, I did think of you on this. But you were so hellbent on moving to the big muddy that I didn;t think you'd come back...

 

The "Big Muddy" needed me. And I needed the big muddy. And it's close enough to Alabama that I can go home occasionally. And I've got a job already.

Oh, and I again praise Mobile for its finalists.

 

The Rockbottom Pipeline churns forth this news: Gentry Estes, formerly of the Chattanooga Times Free Press and Decatur Daily, has been tapped to replace Tom Murphy in Mobile.

Rockbottom's informed judgment: Hearty congrats to Gentry ... though I think Mobile picked the wrong finalist. Alas, we shall see.

Great hire by Randy, although that's no big surprise. I worked for Randy and Gentry worked for me. It will be a great combination.
