I don't think she threw it on purpose, but I do think she may have become tired of the gig and carelessness took over. A lack of alertness to detail. It does make it all the more impressive that Ken had 72 (?) consecutive wins vs. her second place 40 something.

Her numbers were pretty close to Ken’s except she made bigger FJ bets. I think that I read that James only missed on FJ and not on the one which he lost (where the person who beat him got both Daily Doubles in Double Jeopardy)

The game Amodio lost, he finally stopped finding all of the Daily Doubles. It crippled him.

I believe they filmed her final episode before the first one even aired. Maybe she was worn out from the grind, but as far as "being" champ, she didn't get to actually "be champ" until after she lost.

Also, "finding" Daily Doubles is obviously a function of game control, too. Some games, Amy just completely steamrolled the first round, whereas others, she did leave openings for other players. The other time she almost lost, it was to the lawyer and competitive squash player (IIRC) who purposely tried to hurry the pace of the game, to throw Amy off.

Yup — not only can you use it offensively to try to position yourself for a runaway but it prevents the other players from making up ground rapidly.

He has become part of the woodwork, and that’s a very good thing. They had their host in-house the whole time.

Totally agree. He is likable and authoritative. The only thing which he needs to do is stop subtly coaching on Daily Double bets and giving away the fact when contestants are slightly wrong on responses.

Yeah I think he's really settled in and I have no problems with him doing it.
