    Ugi Urbina for baseball.

And, sigh, Mike Webster for football, unless you want to discount mental illness.

Was there a point in stretching to put Tim Raines at second base? He played 53 games there in a 23-year career.

And while it was not mentioned in the initial criteria, I think it is instructive to notice the different types of crimes involved. You also had to reach back a lot farther and more often into baseball history to even attempt to fill out a lineup.

I do agree with the general point that you didn't bother to put down in print -- the NFL's criminal element is being blown out of proportion. There are just so many more players on NFL rosters than in any other sport that it skews any comparison.

If that was your point, you're welcome. Try making it yourself next time.

    Murder - P- Julio Merchado
    Domestic violence - Armando Benitez
    Sexual Assault - Louis Polonia
    Random Violence - Ron LeFlore
I think I gave examples of the other two categories.

No my point was that it could be done with any team. Hell you can even go collegiate.

John Rocker should qualify (for the baseball version, obviously) just for being a racist and a douchebag.

If that's your point then...so what?

Sort of goes with naming an all jailbird team. What's the point? There isn't one, just naming guys who happened to play football who were caught on the wrong side of the law.

Do you think the violent nature of football might have a factor in the number of players committing violent crimes?

Perhaps. The head and body can take only so many collisions.
Then again, some of these guys just don't give a damn. It's their world and you're visiting. Know what I mean?

Which makes it worth discussing, including the question of whether or not the NFL's problem is worse than any other sport.

I don't see it that way. People do strange things every day. In general, many athletes think they are above the law. Of late football players have been big in the headlines. It's the way it is. Nothing really to discuss. There haven't been any studies that I know of suggesting that you'll become a jailbird if you play football.
Therefore, this list, as was mine, was someone's subjective list of miscreants.
