Yesterday I had a lot of work to do, so of course I got bored & sent out a bunch of trades. Completed one in the new league here, but in a different, much deeper league I offered Gio Gonzales & Villanueva for DeGrom, and he countered replacing Villanueva with Gurriel and he threw in Bour who he was dropping - done deal Guriel & Gio for DeGrom & Bour. I guess when it rains it pours. Keeps things interesting.

That's a great trade for you. Gurriel has no power and Villanueva is fine, but he's not as valuable as deGrom. Assuming deGrom comes back healthy and stays that way, you made out very well.

What's the deal with this 2-day waiting period on FA moves? So dumb.

How about first come first served, same day activation?

I assume this is about one of your leagues, not a general fantasy baseball comment?

Agreed. A healthy deGrom is by far the best player in that deal and Bour could produce as much as Gurriel.

It's about OUR league. You have the setting to have owners wait 2 days on FA pickups.

That is for players on waivers. I figured it was something you meant for a league thread, not the general fantasy baseball discussion.

Bundy was still on waivers when you picked him up.

Imagine the competition for him had he gotten an out last time.

That was the same night as Paxton's no-hitter.

One starter allows 0 hits in 9 innings.

Another starter gets 0 outs and doesn't make it out of the 1st.

Happily, the former pitches for my team and the latter does not. :)

A guy in one of my leagues just made two trades and managed to give up the four best players.

He traded Altuve, Rendon and Grandal for Jose Martinez and Mitch Haniger, as well as Ohtani for Inciarte. Granted, Altuve and Rendon are off to slow starts, but it's a keeper league.

In a keeper, those both might be veto-worthy. The first one certainly deserves scrutiny. Altuve is one of the top 10 players in the game. Haniger is off to a nice start, but he did that last season, too.

Ohtani could be frustrating to own in weekly leagues. He sits too often as a hitter and he pitches a little less often than most starters. He is better in daily leagues, where you can use him as both. (This depends on the stat service. Yahoo makes him two separate players, Ohtani the hitter and Ohtani the pitcher, but CBS allows you to use him as both.)
