At the end of the day, Herman Cain's main career achievement: He was chief lobbyist for the restaurant association. His main concern there? Fighting the increase in the minimum wage.

Yeah, that's a great career achievement to run on right now. If you only want the Koch Brother's support, that is.

You're probably right about how it would play in an election.

It's true, it is/was a bug issue for the industry. And, the biggest players in the NRA are the big chains that employ millions of people, often in their very first job.

But, here's what I find interesting: the left is always telling me that we need (illegal) immigrant workers (who can be exploited), or else a head of lettuce will cost $10.00.

Well, how many people do you think will buy a $10.00 Big Mac?

Nah, just the unions using their strongarmed cash extorted from "members" to buy elections. Nothing new there. Rich assholes on one side vs. rich assholes on the other side.

Why do we need to exploit the immigrant workers? Why can't they be paid a fair wage? I really don't see why legalizing these folks' ability to work here necessitates their exploitation.

I hate to continue the threadjack, but people who claim we'll have $10 Big Macs if we provide living wages to ALL workers in the US remind me of the people who claimed a Ford Escort would cost $40,000 if we had to install air bags in them, or that cars wouldn't be able to go over 40 miles an hour if we forced 22 MPG CAFE standards.

The sky-is-falling warnings never seem to pan out. Well, with the exception of the climate change warnings.

I don't believe the testimony of the woman who said that Cain harassed her. She said that he put a hand under her skirt to reach for her genitals and put a hand on the back of her head to tried to push it down towards his crotch. These moves are mutually exclusive - you only do one or the other - never both at the same time. She's lying.
