    It's this...
I don't expect people to perfect, but I do expect honesty. Get out in front of things.

I've heard it posited that the Obama camp planted this story because they want to run against Romney. Heard any attacks on Mittens lately?

Which is ridiculous on its face. Obama should be scared spitless of Romney. Romney can win Michigan and a bunch of Mormon western states and will make him spend resources in New England.

I agree. Of the bunch running now, I think Romney easily has the best chance against Obama.

To any of us who have even an operational bullshit meter, it is the height of absurdity that this story came from the left. But yet Cain said that he was being "targeted by liberals." And Sean Hannity last night apparently devoted two segments to the notion that Cain was being attacked by the "left-wing media" that, I'm guessing after its weekly secret meeting on Monday morning, decided collectively that it couldn't let Cain succeed because Cain's success would demonstrate that the right is not racist.

(Phew. That was a mouthful. I will let you rest for a minute in order to work up the mental energy to follow all of the turns in that pretzel twist of logic.)

Anybody with an atom of common sense in their goddamned head realizes that the Obama camp would love absolutely nothing more in the world than to run against Cain or Bachmann or Perry. Particularly Cain, to whom he would deliver the beating of all electoral beatings.

The reason that you don't hear much dirt on Romney, I think, is pretty simple. With a father who was a career politician, I suspect that Romney knew from a pretty young age that he was interested in pursuing office some day. At an age when the rest of us are boozing and whoring, he was eschewing all of it because he gets the game.

    From Editorial in today's NYP:

Looks like the political world really is starting to take Herman Cain seriously: Anonymous “sexual harassment” charges have been exhumed against him by Politico, the left-tilting, Web-centric press organization.

Regardless of whether Politico leans right or left, I would hope that citizens can ignore the misdirection and pay attention to the actual story here. This is not a media story about who leaked the information, although that's a sidebar. It is a story about whether the allegations reflect on Cain's fitness to serve as president. Everything else is just noise.

And before anyone else brings it up, I am well aware that the Clintons are notorious for the same tactic - taking the focus off of Bill's indiscretions and onto the media coverage.

After Clinton I think we all agree that sexual allegations are not a test of fitness to serve as President.

BTW, that noted pit-bull, left-wing attack dog Robin Meade from Headline News just conducted a 20 minute interview with ol' Herm...and he kept digging deeper and deeper. He all but indicated there will be more sexual harassment accusations coming down the pike.

I'll try and find a video clip later, but I think it's still going on if you're near a TV. If he can't handle Robin, not sure how the GOP expects him to handle Putin.

I think it's situational. It's not "anything goes" after Clinton. Look at Weiner, Sanford, etc., etc.
