As usual, good insight by Ryan Lizza.

These types of fringe candidates don’t truly prepare for the absurdities and difficulties of a Presidential campaign because in their heart of hearts they never believed they would make it very far.

    Not a lot of money:

And, it doesn't look like the payment was all related to Cain's actions:

    I love stories like this:

Attorney for Cain accuser: Cain is lying:

    http://politicalticker.blogs.cnn.com/2011/11/01/cain-blames-time-for-change-in-story/?hpt=hp_c1

    Let me translate:
"He sexually harassed me, but unfortunately I signed this agreement so I can't tell you he sexually harassed me, but if I hadn't signed that agreement, I'd tell you he sexually harassed me. As is, though, I can't talk about how he sexually harassed me."

I wonder at what point you violate the terms of that agreement.

Cain's done a lousy job of telling his side of the story.

And, I'm pretty open to the idea that he probably acted somewhat inappropriately.

But, when you here "settlement" you start to think "guilty". When you read "$35,000", you start to think, "cheaper than defending a lawsuit" and better than risking a jury decision.

Yes. At least two, and it's tough keeping them separated, since Cain seems to have intertwined the stories.

We don't know how the other one was settle yet, I don't think.

I have to hand it to him, though, I have newfound respect after the yeah I suppose there might be others but those allegations will be bullshit answer.

Unless that person has worked there for 25 years, it is absurd to believe a employee making $35,000 a year gets a one-year severance package. That's simply not the real world.

Why does anyone anywhere take Herman Cain, or his scandals, seriously?

Herman's changed his story so many times, I half expect his next defense to be:

"Woman? No, she was 15 so I didn't know what 'woman' you were talking about!"
