Talk about rallies: The Canes trailed 3-0 after two periods against the Panthers and are now ahead 5-0 10:02 into the third, including the last three goals in a stretch of two minutes.

I was about to post about the Canes. And the Rangers are within 5-4. LOT of rallying going on tonight.

And both games end up 6-4 on empty-net goals.

Being a Rangers fan I feared the SO, but dammit I had Emery in goal for my fantasy team. And of course the Rangers just had to tease the comeback ... grrrr!

Haven't seen a game at Oak Park since last January, and my hands and toes are still thawing out.

Bob McKenzie says that we should know by Friday if there's enough support to chance the schedule format:

Were Rory Fitzpatrick votes spiked? His votes totals suspiciously dropped. And James Mirtle, on his blog, points out that because of the way the ballot is set up, there should always be a ratio of 3 to 2, forwards to defensemen. But, in the fifth week of voting, the ratio moved to 3.53 to 2, which would account for 100,000 Western Conference defensemen votes not being counted.

Sounds like the NHL's version of the Florida debacle.

Here's the link to Mirtle's blog entry: http://mirtle.blogspot.com/2007/01/missing-all-star-votes.html

On top of that, I believe Rory was a healthy scratch last night.

The NHL started enforcing its rules about "no bot" votes late in the game. Read the bottom update on the article, it explains it pretty well.
