Mike Kitchen and Hardy Astrom were teammates on the Colorado Rockies. Go figure.

Even though the Coyotes have a lot of guys out with injuries, they're pretty much a horrible team. I don't think anyone can fix that. However, Wayne should "relieve himself of his duties" and concentrate on the ops side, imo.

Pretty good scrap between Colton Orr and Cam Janssen to get things started between the Rangers and Devils.

    Mr Bass,

Re: Agnew, Knights ... in London, Don Boyd (amateur scout) hired DM as his assistant when the latter was doing his grad degree.

    Go Jackets, etc

With this year's inductions now passed, time to take a look at next year's class.

Five surefire Hall of Famers, but only four can get inducted. Who will have to wait a year?

Mark Messier, Al MacInnis, Igor Larionov, Ron Francis and Scott Stevens

My guess is that Stevens or Francis would be the odd man out (obviously they would be inducted the next year most likely).

It sucks that you can only have four. It sucks harder that the classiest guy of the bunch, Ronnie Franchise, is likely to be the one left on the sidelines for an extra year.

If Francis is indeed the odd man out, couldn't that set up a scenario where Yzerman and Francis could go in together?

I'm drawing a complete blank as to the waiting period after retirement, so maybe this isn't a possibility at all.

Jagr (two goals) and Brendan Shanahan scored three times 90 seconds of the third period, and the Rangers beat the Devils 3-2.

    HB, saw the highlights.

Shanahan proving once again that Mimico rules! :)

MSG denziens were quite displeased with the first two periods. After Shanahan's goal, it sounded like a bomb went off. Place was nuts.

Gionta got back on track with a goal, but not much else to like from a Devils perspective.
