    Sirs, Madames,

Kessel ... Kessell ... where have I heard that name before?

I know somebody wanted to take him ahead of Sidney Crosby. One order of crow to Mr Simmons's table, please!

    YHS, etc

    Mr. Friend

Mr. Simmons may be the worst hockey columnist in our great country.

Maybe even in our whole great continent.

And on the TSN Sunday morning show The Reporters, I always get the feeling that Damien Cox wants to jersey him.

Is there any news out of Canada as to why Kessel has been hospitalized? Rumors on other sites (that were substantiated by a since-removed update on a Boston hockey website) say it may be testicular cancer, but given the somewhat casual relationship between the internet and fact, who knows what's going on.

The Bruins released a statement saying he was hospitalized for "non-hockey related" issues and asked the media to not contact his family.

I can't stand reading, listening to or watching Simmons.

Seriously, how great is it to watch a Caps/Pens game.

Ovechkin and Malkin had DIRTY moves in the shootout.

I loved Ovechkin and Crosby banging into one another.

The Pens' "rally buckets" were awesome

    That was a fun game.

You may already have seen this confirmed, but it is indeed testicular cancer.

    Sirs, Madames,

Had a friend diagnosed a year back ... he's through it fine. Can't imagine that with all the medicals that this wasn't caught early.

    YHS, etc

Hopefully, treatment goes along the same way as Jon Lester's.

Agree with that. This was my first chance to see the Penguins play live on TV this season. For the Caps to score the first four goals only to lose it, that's priceless. It couldn't happen to a better team. :D

I had nothing to do on Monday. So I ordered a ticket online, drove down from Pittsburgh, picked my ticket up at will call and sat 10 rows behind the Capitals bench.

Amazing game to see in person. I could see Matt Pettinger take his skate off and hand it to the equipment manager to re-sharpen. I could see Ovechkin pick a stick off the rack. I could see the caverns on Glen Hanlon's face. I could hear Ryan Whitney yell for a pass from Brooks Oprik.

No other sport's experience is amplified in person to the degree hockey is.

    Any Pittsburgh people here?

How difficult is it to get a ticket to Penguins games?

Depends on the opponent. Like Philly and Toronto would be a tough one to get. Lots of out-of-towners show up. But when they played Florida last week, there was only 12,000 and change.
