What the hell is going on with the Leafs tonight?

Hey, I like Gretzky, but not enough for him to walk out with a win.

Something's not right with the complete lack of offense. Now Eric Staal's lack of production - I think the tally is three measly assists in the last nine games - is really hurting the Hurricanes.

  3. Anyone want to wager the odds on Jay Feaster asking one of his stars to waive their no-trade since every other GM in the NHL knows the Bolts have a gun to their heads and they have major problems stopping the puck and getting little from the third and fourth lines.

Pretty sad when Head Coach John Tortorella thinks B-level goon Andre Roy would help clean things up in the dressing room because he's a good personality to have around the guys. He's tallied one assist in 13 games.

Maybe Feaster and Tortorella should send a 'Thank you' card to former Tampa Bay GM Rick Dudley for assembling the majority of the Stanley Cup winning team because its clear this organization fears making a major move to upset the players and fan base.

In the last three games (all home games, against Washington, Jersey and Philly), they've played good hockey. They have been responsible in their own zone, stood up for each other, used the dump-and-chase/heavy forecheck offensive game with a sprinkling of the Czech/Euro passing game.

Personally, I think when Shanny stood up for the team and took on Brashear it lit a fire under their arses and they've been playing well ever since.

I'm torn on the fight. Yeah, it lit a fire under them, but do they really want their 38-year-old power forward to drop the gloves with Brashear? Why isn't Colton Orr fighting Brashear (Because he gets his ass beat every time he squares off with Philly's pugilist--or anyone else)? If Colton Orr isn't going to stand up for his teammates, then he's a waste of a locker and hundreds of thousands of dollars.

Didn't he get suspended for the fight with Brasshear?

Also there's a good photo on the wire of Ryan Hollweg punching the lights out of Philly's Ben Eager :D

Nope. Orr was suspended for attempting to knock all of Alexander Ovechkin's teeth out with a cross-check.

Well, the Leafs won handily but the best part is their fourth line guys were the stars.

Steen had the trick, Bates Battaglia had two, and even Chris Newbury chipped in.

One of those games. The two Boston goalies (Thomas & Sauve) couldn't have stopped a beach ball.

I think my reaction to the Dallas-Edmonton game can be summed up as thus: Guh?

Edmonton goes up 4-1 midway through the second, someone hits Stars goalie Mike Smith square in the mask with a slapshot, breaks the mask and knocks him out of the game with a headache, Dallas comes back with three goals in the third to go up 5-4, Stefan misses the empty net FROM THE CREASE OF SAID EMPTY NET with 10 seconds left, Oilers come in transition and Hemsky scores on a breakaway with 2 seconds left to force OT, there's not a single whistle in OT, and the Stars win in a shootout when Jokinen busts out the Forsberg move again.

I'm just... my brain is mush after that. Awesome, awesome game.

Sorry, you're right. I got two figures mixed up -- it's his company that now has annual revenues of over $1 billion, while his net worth is "only" about $500 million. Poor fucking guy. :p

And here's the video clip of Stefan's brain cramp. Ray Ferraro goes nuts.

"Patrick Stefan you should be embarrassed for what you just did"

I've never seen anything close to that. One of the great hockey gaffes of all time.
