    To quote someone off the baseball thread (I forget who it is): I hate this fucking team.

    With the win last night, the Oil now do not have a chance at the No. 1 pick overall.

    From NHL.com: Under the lottery system, only the five teams with the fewest points had the chance to win the first overall selection;

    Oh sure, the Oil have the same point total as Chicago, but the Oil have MORE VICTORIES! Fuck, again, I hate this fucking team.

    I'm sure the CBC sales staff would be annoyed with me, too. Personally, I don't care if the Maple Leafs get in. But, professionally, who wouldn't want to watch that Penguins-Senators series?

    Richard Park makes it 1-0 Islanders.

    BTW, San Jose is really, really good.

    That happens when an organization gets stupid and dumps Joe Thornton (no offense, Bruins fans ... I've seen my team do some dumb things, too). Sharks were smart enough to smell blood in the water and pounce.

    Flyers finish worst season in 40 years

    The Flyers' pitiful season finally ended Sunday, ironically with a 4-3 victory over the Sabres, who go into the playoffs as the team with the most points in the NHL. They still have no proven goalie (remember Biron has not started one playoff game), a pathetic defense and only one proven scorer in Gagne up front. John Stevens sounds like a nice guy, but is the right man to lead this team. Sure Paul Holmgren is the GM, but Bobby Clarke is still a part of the organization and I'm sure still has a say on personell decisions. Where does Philly go from here?

    They can only go up, right? :-\

    On the plus side, this means I can pick a random team to root for in the playoffs. Last time I did that was 1994, and yea, I was rooting for the Rangers.

    Let's hope they go up. I didn't watch one game all season b/c I didn't feel like seeing Derian Hatcher get beat time after time after time. Will they go after Forsberg this summer?

    I think they need to stay away from old farts, even Forsberg. Their obsession with older players is why they're in this mess. Lots of crappy free agent signings th last few years.

    And I don't think they can get any lower.

    you didn't watch one game all year but you care enough about the Flyers to start a thread about them on a message board?

    After being shut out for 55 minutes,

    New Jersey 15:47, John Madden 11 (Jay Pandolfo, Sergei Brylin)
    New Jersey 19:59, John Madden 12 (Jamie Langenbrunner, Patrik Elias)

    Wow.
