I'm sorry man, we'll have to agree to disagree on that one, I don't listen to him often, but when i do he usually leaves me shaking my head wondering what he's talking about or where he's coming from. And of course as I am attacking the guy as an annonymous poster on an Internet board is when my burnt out mind is drawing blanks on many things, especially specific examples. I've never met him, not doubting he's a good guy or anything. I feel the same way about Greg Millen, and used to about kelly Hrudey, although Hrudey is getting much better. Although he still leaves me baffled everyonce in a while, Hrudey's biggest problem in the past was experience and trying to sound like he had an analytical opinion about everything, whether he came off sounding like he knew what he was talking about or not. Like I said, He is much improved. What is it about CBC and hiring former mediocre goalies as their analysts anyways?

Roenick has done very well, but I'm not that surprised, I'm just surprised he's on Canadian TV and not on NBC. The only concern I had about Roenick is if he tried to be too much of a personality and become a gas bag, but he has been able to keep things on an even keel and has sounded intelligent while doing it.

I have to agree with Elliotte on this one. He's one of the best reasons to tune into the Fan 590 on Friday mornings ... he's funny, smart and he explains things well. I enjoy his commentary during games as well.

And if you ever get a chance to hear him and Nick Kyprios together, go for it. Both of them are good but together, they're even better.

Personally, I think Healy is exponentially better now than when he first started broadcasting. He was trying to be too controversial, too much of a know-it-all, ripping marginal players far too often, perhaps forgetting that he was once such a player himself. His pro-union predictions during the lockout - and his refusal to even consider that he might have been wrong - were a little much for me.

Now, he's much more palatable, as he's just being himself and allowing his wit to come naturally. I still prefer Kypreos, but Healy's right there.

I have to admit, I got Healy and Hrudy confused earlier. I don't know why. But anyway, they are both better now than they were earlier in their careers. Healy has toned it down and has toned down his "pro-player, anti-owner" rants. He's not bad.

Hrudy is better. Love Behind the Mask.

    Carry on.

Healy did turn me off big during the lockout – and I admittedly haven't listned to him much since then, one of those change the channels when he comes on. I still can't listen to Kypreos, I've tried just to get Sportsnets' hockey opinon on top of TSN's. But I can't listen to him. Maybe I should give Healy another chance.

Healy can be annoying at times but he has toned down his act this year. However, he's not afraid to call a spade a fucking shovel.

Kelly Hrudy may be the best analyst on HNIC.

Now if someone could do something with that terminally annoying Pierre Maguire. What an asshat.

I already mentioned how much Hrudy has improved. He actually sounds like he knows what he is talking about now. Seriously he has come a long ways and is one of their better guys. Simpson has been alright as an anlyst. I always thought he was better behind a camera than on the bench. If only we could get him off our bench.

Pierr Maguire is a guy who could gain a mile by just toning it down a little. For crying out loud he doesn't have to yell the whole time. I think alot of what he has to say – and I think he has a lot of useful knowledge – gets lost in him being a blow hard.

I agree with Elliotte about Healy. He is "terrific". He brings unique insight and humour that is "so" needed in hockey analyzing/commentating. He knows his stuff. Kelly Hrudey is great as HNIC analyst too.

He's the Tim McCarver of hockey,

"Look at me! I'm really smart! I have made my point but in case you didn't get it, I'll repeat it five more times. ROBERTO LUONGO IS MY MONSTER PERFORMER!!! LUONGO IS THE MONSTER OF THE GAME"

    Unbearable.
